At the customary post-match press conference PSV head coach Ronald Koeman explained what had gone wrong, according to him. "We started far too passively, taking for granted we would see off FC Twente, after they had suffered two recent shock defeats. We allowed Twente to play their own game and they gradually felt the game could be theirs after all. We started at a low tempo and frequently delivered only long balls. I am disappointed, although we created chances when we were 1-0 down. But sometimes you just don’t deserve a better fate. We lacked aggression and fighting spirit. We should have done far better as a team." "A fully deserved win"Fred Rutten thought his team fully deserved the win. "We have put in a solid and well-disciplined team performance and we deserved to win. We played in accordance with our game plan and PSV soon had to resort to long balls. We had a rather cautious start, following the opening day defeat and the elimination from the UEFA Cup, but we were gaining in confidence. However, we are not suddenly going to revise our policy. It is still our aim to reach a play-off place at the end of the season. I agree with Koeman. It was not a top game", announced Rutten at the post-match press conference. 'Väyrynen in Spain'PSV lost two Dutch internationals, André Ooijer and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, this week following moves to Blackburn and Celtic respectively and Mika Väyrynen is in Spain to conduct negotiations with Celta de Vigo. "But we shouldn’t be quick to blame their departures for the defeat we suffered, although we realise we are pretty thin on the ground for attacking options. Väyrynen is in Spain, as he thinks he will get less playing time now that Mendez has joined us."\Koeman was not willing to deny or confirm newspaper reports linking Patrick Kluivert with PSV. "We have four days left to strengthen our attacking options. But unfortunately we cannot complete deals with all players that we are interested in. Kluivert is on our list, though."
