Rob Westerhof has announced that he will resign as PSV Chairman on 1 October next after having been in office for two years. Last summer Westerhof already informed the supervisory board that he considered the pressure of work combined with other duties a great burden. The supervisory board has agreed to his own request to be discharged from his post as PSV Chairman. Frits Schuitema, a current member of the supervisory board, will act as interim Chairman after 1 October. Rob Westerhof will deal with current affairs until autumn and will be available for affairs that ensure the continuation of PSV. The supervisory board will study the structure of the organisation and consider the possibility of appointing a General Manager for day-to-day management. Two years ago Rob Westerhof was asked to become PSV Chairman, after he had retired as CEO at Philips North America. PSV clinched the Dutch title twice the past two seasons, reached the UEFA Champions League two seasons in a row and won the Dutch Cup once. Progressing to the UEFA Champions League semi finals in the 2004-2005 season was one of the highlights.PSV NV has given commercial and financial matters top priority the past two years.PSV and the supervisory board are greatly indebted to Westerhof for the dedication and enthusiasm he has displayed and for the great results he has achieved the past two years.
