PSV‘s Champions League opponents had mixed fortunes in their domestic leagues last weekend. Liverpool suffered an embarrassing defeat, Bordeaux enjoyed a narrow win and Galatasaray snatched one point. 2004-2005 UEFA Champions League winners Liverpool FC slumped to a 3-0 derby defeat against Everton at Goodison Park last Saturday, three days ahead of the crucial Champions League clash against PSV in Eindhoven.Andrew Johnson put in a sparkling performance for the hosts and scored two goals on either side of the break, after Australian international Cahill had opened the scoring. Liverpool will be without John Arne Riise tomorrow night. The Norwegian defender sustained an ankle injury during the derby against Everton and is expected to be sidelined for two weeks.Liverpool line-up:Reina, Finnan, Carragher, Hyypiä, Fabio Aurélio, Gerrard, Sissoko (78, Pennant), Xabi Alonso, Luis Garcia, Crouch (53, Kuyt) and Fowler (64, Riise). FC Girondins de Bordeaux earned a 3-2 win over Nice at home in the Stade Chaban-Delmas. Over 20, 000 fans saw Nice take the lead on 29 minutes, after Varrault had found the net. Bordeaux, though, were 2-1 on top at half time, thanks to goals scored by Darcheville and Wendel, on respectively 42 and 45 minutes. Darcheville made it three on 64 minutes by coolly finishing from the spot. Nice also earned a penalty that Ederson comfortably converted; 3-2.Bordeaux line-up:Ramé, Faubert, Jemmali, Planus, Marange, Alonso (83, Perea), Mavuba, Micoud, Ducasse, Wendel (66, Dalmat) en Darcheville (74, Chamakh).
