PSV have returned from Turkey; all players have come through the midweek clash unscathed and PSV coach Ronald Koeman is now preparing the squad for Sunday afternoon’s crucial Eredivisie encounter with second-placed AZ in Alkmaar. Arouna KonéKoeman announced at the weekly media briefing that striker Patrick Kluivert has started a lengthy rehabilitation programme. "He is recovering, which is a gradual process and I don’t expect him to make a comeback soon.” The PSV coach is happy with striker Arouna Koné’s performances. "Koné is our best striker up front, although Farfán also has the capacities to play in that position, but he shows more goal threat when he cuts into the box from the right wing. I knew Koné would eventually end his goal drought and that’s what happened last Wednesday night. I hope he will now develop into a clinical finisher. We will always support him. He is having a great spell, but he needs to improve his scoring average.”AZKoeman is looking forward to meeting AZ on Sunday afternoon. "They strengthened their options during the summer transfer window and play excellent football, but we should not be overimpressed. They may not have established a reputation as a top club yet, but they achieved great successes on the pitch the past few seasons. We’ll just have to wait and see if they maintain this good spell for a long time, but we all know they finished second in the Dutch league last season. AZ have a great many games to play, now that they have qualified for the UEFA Cup group stages. They have a well-balanced squad and it is good for Dutch football in general that they have joined the three so-called big teams.”
