Erik Gerets got a warm feeling on his return to the Philips Stadium and he had plenty of happy memories, but he said he would gladly trade them for a win in Eindhoven. The former PSV player and coach said he was delighted to be back in Eindhoven. "It's a very special feeling; for me this is the most beautiful stadium in Holland. I am delighted to be here. I had ten successful years here, but that is history now. It’s good to be back, but I would gladly trade the memories for a win on Tuesday. We desperately need a win. We must show we can play good football, like we did in the first forty-five minutes in Istanbul. Unfortunately we did not carry on in similar fashion after the break", said Gerets at Monday night's press conference. "Two weeks ago we showed we were able to match PSV. Unfortunately one of our players made a defensive slip, which had an impact on the whole team. But we have learnt our lesson and picked up the thread. We are playing much better now and enjoyed a few wins lately. I am looking forward to the game. A host of Galatasaray fans will support us. The main thing is that my players should keep the faith." After the press conference Gerets briefly posed in front of an historical picture, taken on 25 May 1988, when he won the European Champion Clubs' Cup. A great many pictures were taken, while Gerets was leaning on the Cup with the Big Ears.
