PSV have extended their lead over Ajax by three points. The Eindhoven outfit bagged all three points, following a 2-0 win over RKC Waalwijk in Eindhoven on Saturday night, while Ajax slipped to a 1-0 defeat against sc Heerenveen in the Amsterdam ArenA on Sunday afternoon. AZ cruised to a comprehensive 4-0 win, away against FC Utrecht and have leapfrogged FC Twente and Ajax, who are third and fourth, respectively, in the Eredivisie standings.
Lasse Nilsson earned sc Heernveen a 1-0 win over Ajax in the Amsterdam ArenA, after scoring on 17 minutes. Plenty of time was at hand for the hosts to make amends, but they did not succeed in scoring a goal and lie now fourth in the table and ten points behind leaders PSV. They also suffered serious injury setback, when Leonardo limped off the pitch with what looked like a severe knee injury in the closing stages. AZ enjoyed an emphatic 4-0 win over FC Utrecht, scoring two goals on either side of the break. Maarten Martens, Shota Arveladze, Moussa Dembélé and Danny Koevermans got their names on the score sheet.
