PSV will not splash out millions on transfers (PSV.nl)

Jan Reker officially started his new job as PSV’s General Manager on Monday 2 July, after he had already done a lot of work behind the screens the past few weeks. Reker clarifies the club’s financial position and sporting future in an <L CODE="C01">interview</L> with <L CODE="C02">PSV TV</L>. “I met the club’s managers on my first day at work, but I have obviously been active off-stage for some time”, explains Reker. The new General Manager amplifies the Champions League’s proceeds and the club’s views of selling and buying players. “It is our policy to recruit young players. After all, we have won the ‘Best Youth Academy’ award. We will are not willing to splash out millions on transfers, but we will field a strong team next season anyway.” Reker finally made it emphatically clear that PSV has always been against the introduction of play-off matches. “All coaches are dead set against the playoffs.”
