Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink made an appearance on the training pitch for the first time since he sustained a shoulder injury. The striker did some light running exercises under the supervision of fitness coach Luc van Agt. "It’s wonderful to be outside again", said Vennegoor of Hesselink, who picked up an injury to his right shoulder injury on 21 November, when PSV met Vitesse. So disaster struck three weeks ago, but today VOH was all smiles. "I’m doing well and my recuperation is on schedule. It feels good to some running", he announced on a cold wintry Monday morning. Luc van Agt, the PSV fitness coach, added:” Running laps is actually awfully boring and I’m afraid I can’t make it any attractive. But for Jan it’s good, as he notices that he’s making progress. We mustn’t take any risks, though. If he makes a clumsy movement, it might mean that he’ll be facing a setback. Vennegoor of Hesselink ran three laps; then he took a rest and did some exercises. He did this programme four more times. Vennegoor of Hesselink instinctively fired home a ball that had come his way from the training pitch, where the partners Sibon/Fehér and Eijkelkamp/Rutten were playing a game of foot-volleyball. VOF flashed a radiant smile!
