PSV lacked a cutting edge and conviction to turn the tide in their 2-0 defeat against Internazionale on Tuesday night. The game could have sprung back into life, if Addo had not sent his header from five metres wide of the post four minutes after the restart. 'It could have been a different game', explained Ronald Koeman at the post-match press conference. 'You should take your chances at such a convenient moment.'

'We conceded precious few chances, but after taking the lead, Inter played their favourite kind of game', concluded Koeman in the press room of the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. It might have been a different game if Addo had reduced the deficit soon after the break, but unfortunately he sent his header wide of the post. 'If we had scored a goal, we might have snatched a point in the closing stages, but they defended well and our finishing lacked conviction tonight.' said Koeman.
The PSV head coach thought the penalty awarded to Internazionale after fifteen minutes was the turning point in the game. 'Once Inter were on top, they waited patiently for their players to create more opportunities. Ibrahimovic scored a truly fantastic goal.' Koeman had not been able to see if the penalty had been rightly given.' I thought Jan Kromkamp first slipped, but I could not see it properly. I do know, however, we lacked a cutting edge tonight.'
Koeman told media representatives that the differences between Group G contenders PSV, Inter, Fenerbahçe and CSKA Moscow are not really big. 'Inter are probably the strongest team, but Fenerbahçe have beaten them. The two encounters with Fenerbahçe will be very important games for us.'
