PSV head coach Ronald Koeman knows PSV need a win over Fenerbahçe on Tuesday night to have their fate in their own hands. 'I sincerely think they are a strong team, but I also think we stand a fair chance of winning the game. We need to convince the players they can get a good result and then it's up to them.'

'We know it's very important for us to win if we want to reach the next round, and playing in our own stadium will help. We will only have our fate in our own hands, if we succeed in taking four points from the double meeting with Fenerbahçe', said Koeman after the final training session in the Philips Stadium. 'We intend to take four points at least. We enjoy home advantage, but they have a strong team, with five quality players in their ranks. We beat Fenerbahçe at home two seasons ago, but they field a far stronger team this season. They want to play on the attack, so we should not allow them to pass the ball around, but combat them aggressively. I think it will be a highly entertaining match. We know what to expect from them, but we are ready for the tough challenge.'
Koeman told media representatives that Gomes has shaken off the knee injury he sustained in PSV's 3-1 victory against VVV-Venlo. 'He trained lightly yesterday, separately from the squad, but he joined his team mates for full training today.' Koeman realizes Mateja Kezman is upset he cannot make the trip to the Philips Stadium. 'It's a personal tragedy. He always shows goal-scoring prowess and that's why I don't mind him missing the match. They have a large squad to pick from and will undoubtedly hand a start to another fine striker.'

Danko Lazovic joined his coach at the traditional pre-match press conference. 'It's a very crucial game for us. We need a win to advance to the next stage. We will make every effort to take all three points.' Serbia international Danko Lazovic said he was glad fellow Serbian striker Kezman is ruled out of tomorrow night's game through injury.' It's a shame he will miss the match, but he is a prolific striker, so I'm glad he's not playing against us!'
