19-year-old Ismail Aissati, who is in his eighth season with PSV, has pledged his future to the club, after agreeing a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the Philips Stadium until the summer of 2011. Aissati is the fifth player who has signed a contract extension with PSV this season.
Midfielder Ismail Aissati, born in Utrecht on 16 August 1988, joined PSV from amateurs Elinkwijk in the 2000/01 season. He started his career at DSO, where he spent four seasons as a youth player. Ismail Aissati made his debut for PSV in their 3-0 win over Roda JC on 25 August 2005 in the Johan Cruijff Shield contest.
Last season PSV loaned Aissati to FC Twente for six months, where the youngster quickly established himself as a first-team regular, scoring one goal in fourteen games. This season he made five starts for PSV, was taken off three times and brought on as a substitute eight times. He also made three UEFA Champions League appearances. This season has also seen fresh deals for captain Timmy Simons, defender Carlos Salcido, forward Ibrahim Afellay and goalkeeper Gomes.
