Sef Vergoossen stressed at the press conference on Tuesday afternoon ahead of Wednesday's clash with Sparta Rotterdam that PSV have no intention of selling any of their players during January's transfer window. The PSV caretaker manager told the media representatives that Tommie van der Leegte could come back into contention in two or three weeks.

Vergoossen has the luxury of an almost fully-fit squad to pick from when he selects a starting eleven for the Sparta game. John de Jong (knee) and Tommie van der Leegte (intestines) are the only absentees. 'Van der Leegte was recovering well until he suffered a setback. We expect him to be available again within two or three weeks.'
Vergoossen told the press that he had reviewed in great detail Sunday's encounter with VVV-Venlo with the squad. He had made it clear to the players that tactical discipline and composure had been lacking at times. By presenting a video analysis to the players, he taught them how to create openings against a well-organised and compact defence. He referred in particular to a chance that Bakkal got after Farfán had created some space. 'Lady Luck was not on our side, but we must work hard at training in order to create more goal scoring opportunities during the games.'

Vergoossen has found a solution for the communication problems on the pitch by involving Pedro Salazar, PSV's Press Officer and Chilean by birth, in the training sessions. 'An interpreter is of added value to our team. We have found a solution within our own organisation, which is convenient, as the players already have to get used to my assistant Dwight Lodeweges and me as newcomers. Pedro has agreed to help us and we are delighted to make use of his linguistic skills. We needed him at least three times today.'
Vergoossen also briefly looked ahead at tomorrow night's game. 'We will not underestimate Sparta Rotterdam, but we have confidence in our own strength.'
