PSV trained at the Philips Stadium on Tuesday morning to make final preparations for the UEFA Cup Round of 32 first leg with Helsingborgs IF on Wednesday, which kicks off at 20:45. The training session was behind closed doors, with the exception of the final fifteen minutes when media representatives were welcome to watch the players train. Sef Vergoossen was still absent due to an illness.
The players were first given tactical instructions, after which they played a practice game before moving to work on all aspects of finishing play. The PSV coaching staff have a near full strength squad to select from. John de Jong and Tommie van der Leegte are not match fit yet, but the latter made an appearance for Young PSV last night, continuing his comeback from injury. 23-year-old Jefferson Farfán became a father last night when his girlfriend Melissa gave birth to a son called Adriano. Tonight, Helsingborgs IF have their final training session in the stadium, ahead of tomorrow night's clash. The Swedes also train behind closed doors.
