Mateja Kezman ended his goal drought at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon by scoring a very important goal in the FA Cup tie against second division Scunthorpe United. The visitors scored a stunning goal in the eight minute, but former PSV striker Kezman put José Mourinho’s side on equal terms on 26 minutes.Gudjohnsen floated a ball in, Drogba headed back and Kezman delivered a thumping volley that took a slight deflection before it came into the roof of the net. Chelsea took the lead on 57 minutes. Drogba’s pass was misjudged by Scunthorpe captain Andy Crosby, who scored an unfortunate own goal. Four minutes from final time Gudjohnsen wrapped things up; 3-1.Arjen Robben, who dropped by to say hello to some old friends at the PSV training ground De Herdgang on Friday, was not included in the starting XI, but came on the pitch on 81 minutes to replace Kezman. So Chelsea FC have reached the fourth round, but Manchester United have not progressed to the next phase yet. The team, without star striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, who is currently undergoing treatment for up to a month in Eindhoven, were held to an embarrassing goalless draw at Old Trafford by non-league Exeter City. Manchester United will now have to travel to Exeter on Tuesday for an unexpected replay.
