PSV confirm they have added a friendly to their pre-season schedule. Huub Stevens' team are in line to face Newcastle United at St James' Park on Wednesday August 6, kick-off time still to be confirmed. PSV will head to Merseyside on August 9 where they play a pre-season friendly against Everton at Goodison Park.
St. James' Park
PSV also met Newcastle United at St. James' Park during the pre-season 2006-2007 campaign. They stormed into a 3-0 lead that day before goals from Albert Luque from the spot and Shola Ameobi narrowed the gap in the second half. They recorded a 3-2 win in the end, with Jefferson Farfán, Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and Jason Culina having their names on the scoresheet. They also faced Stoke City during their trip in England. PSV again cross the Channel to play two friendlies in England this summer as well. The defending Dutch champions play against VVV-Venlo on Wednesday 30 July to contest the Herman Teeuwen Memorial trophy. On Saturday 2 August, they will meet Sporting Lisbon, who finished second in the Portuguese league last season.
