The PSV team should be back to full strength this weekend with the return of several players from international duty. Ibrahim Afellay and Andreas Isaksson joined the squad for full training on Thursday afternoon. Afellay came on as a substitute for Holland in Moscow last night and goalkeeper Isaksson played the full 90 minutes against France.
International friendlies
Ibrahim Afellay and Andreas Isaksson reported back for training at De Herdgang training facilities, after they had made an appearance for the Netherlands and Sweden in international friendlies in Moscow and Göteborg, respectively, on Wednesday night. Holland international Afellay was brought on as a substitute 27 minutes into the second half. Afellay did some light running, along with physio Cees van der Linden, in order to stretch his legs after the long flight from Moscow. Isaksson played the full 90 minutes in Sweden's 3-2 defeat against France. He had an individual goalkeeping training session, supervised by goalkeeping coach Hans Segers.
Practice game of football
The PSV first-team squad and some players of the Young PSV squad held a joint training session on Thursday afternoon. The players, including Otman Bakkal, Erik Pieters and Dirk Marcellis, who had reported back for training on Thursday morning for the time since their return from Beijing, played a practice game of football. This coming Saturday sees reigning champions PSV take on Cup winners Feyenoord for Johan Cruijff Schaal, the Dutch Super Cup. The venue for this match will be the Amsterdam ArenA.
