PSV head coach Huub Stevens expressed disappointment with his side's 3-0 defeat against Atlético Madrid. 'It is disappointing to start the Champions League group stage with a 3-0 defeat, at home, but I hope we will learn from this game', said Stevens at the post-match press conference. 'But we have played only one game and we still have five matches to go.'

"We knew beforehand we would face a tall task. The lads are obviously disappointed and so am I, but we'll have to face reality. We have played only one game and we still have five matches to go.' Stevens wanted to take some positives out of Tuesday's defeat. 'We can learn a lot from this game. Atlético struck at the right moments and that's what we would like to do as well.' Stevens was not unduly worried about his side's first defeat of the season. 'We were well organised and we started the game brightly. But when we were soon trailing 1-0, we knew we faced an uphill battle against strong opponents.' Atlético Madrid coach Javier Aguirre was satisfied with his side's result, but quickly put things in perspective. 'We got off to a great start, but we still have a long way to go, so there's no reason to get over-excited', said the Mexican. He was forced to replace Diego Forlan after the Uruguayan striker suffered a suspected torn hamstring.
