Slovenian referee Skomina takes charge of PSV-Marseille (PSV.nl)

The Slovenian referee Damir Skomina will take charge of Wednesday's Champions League match between PSV and Olympique Marseille. 32-old Skomina was already in charge of matches at the Euro Under-21 in the Netherlands and acted as fourth official at the Euro 2008.
Euro Under-21 final
Damir Skomina has never refereed a PSV game before, but he took charge of the Euro 2007 Under-21 final, when the Netherlands beat Serbia 4-1 in Groningen. The young referee was chosen to referee the Olympic quarter final between Brazil and Cameroon (2-0). The Slovenian acted as fourth official at the Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland. Skomina was in charge for the UEFA Cup tie between Osasuna and Heerenveen (0-0) in 2006 when he sent off Lasse Nilsson. Damir Skomina will make his UEFA Champions League at the PSV-Olympique Marseille game. The match at the Philips Stadium kicks off at 8.45pm.
