PSV finish second in Superleague Formula (PSV.nl)

PSV finished the inaugural Superleague Formula championship season in style. PSV driver Yelmer Buurman completed the season as the highest placed Dutchman, scoring 337 points to finish the championship in second position. Countryman Robert Doornbos, the AC Milan driver, finished third, having collected 335 points.
Yelmer Buurman: 'A great reward'
Buurman did not earn a podium place at the Jerez circuit in southern Spain on Sunday. After the first race on Sunday, three teams were vying for second place. Buurman finished ahead of his rivals in the second race, ensuring he finished second in the SF Championship table. The PSV racing team was outstanding in the inaugural Superleague Formula championship season. Eighteen teams competed in six racing weekend, with two Sunday races, one with a reverse grid. 'This is a great reward for the whole team', said Buurman in Spain. 'This is a fabulous achievement. We finished second and I think we are entitled to feel proud of ourselves.' The PSV car was run by Belgian squad Azerti, run by former GT racer Wim Coeckelbergs. AC Milan driver Robert Doornbos, who won the first race at the Jerez circuit, finished third in the championship, ahead of Liverpool. Chinese club Beijing Guoan earned the Superleague Formula 'Premiership' on 413 points.
