Johan Vonlanthen joins Brescia until the end of the season. The Italian clubs have signed the Swiss forward, who will celebrate his nineteenth birthday on Tuesday, in an attempt to avoid relegation from the Serie A. Brescia are currently nineteenth in the Italian league.The temporary move of Vonlanthen to Italy was completed on the day before the transfer window closed. PSV manager Guus Hiddink has said before that the young striker should get more playing time. Vonlanthen played for, among other teams, BSC Young Boys in Switzerland, before he made a move to PSV. He is also regularly called up for national duty and he made appearances during the Euro 2004 in Portugal.
