PSV are the first team in the rich history of professional football in Holland that was awarded four penalty kicks in one game. Four penalty kicks in one game were earned on three previous occasions. Four spot shots were awarded during the league games De Graafschap - Ajax (1-8) on 3 May 1998, Feyenoord - NEC (3-3) on 21 September 1975 and Sparta - MVV (7-2) on 24 October 1965 (7-2). Roland van der Hilst was the referee in Eindhoven on Wednesday night. He offered PSV a chance to score from a penalty on 17, 37, 52 and 76 minutes. Mark van Bommel, Andre Ooijer, Mark van Bommel once again and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink took the penalties in Eindhoven. The first two efforts were saved by the RBC keeper, but when Van Bommel and ‘VOH’ stepped up to the spot, they were successful. PSV last missed two penalties in one game on 21 March 1998 during the PSV – Vitesse encounter, when Luc Nilis en Wim Jonk failed to convert from the spot.(Source: Infostrada Sports)
