The list of fixtures for the 2005-2006 season has been officially announced today. PSV start the season away against newly promoted Heracles. Their first game at home is scheduled for Sunday 21 August, when they entertain Vitesse.October heavy as leadThe Heracles game, away in Almelo, is scheduled for Saturday 13 August. PSV will open the season on 5 August in the Amsterdam ArenA, where the Johan Cruijff Shield is at stake in the game against Ajax. The first traditional game of the new campaign will take place on Sunday 23 October, when PSV play hosts to Ajax. It looks like the month of October will be as heavy as lead for PSV, as they play a Champions League group match, a domestic league tie against AZ; moreover they will travel to sc Heerenveen and FC Twente, who are both formidable opponents.Boxing DayAs the play-offs are going to be played at the end of the season, a number of games are also scheduled for the festive season. Guus Hiddink and his players will be on the road to Nijmegen on Boxing Day to meet N.E.C. and they will welcome FC Twente three days later, on Thursday 29 December. PSV will face another challenge on 15 January, when they play away against newly promoted Sparta. The first clash with Feyenoord and their new coach Erwin Koeman is scheduled in the Rotterdam Kuip on Sunday 11 December.Kick off timesThe first play off-game is scheduled for the weekend of Saturday 22 April. The kick-off times of the games will be announced next week. PSV may take it for granted that the Saturday night home games PSV play will be kicked off, as usual, at 19:30.
