Phillip Cocu took his time to explain in peace and quiet that the red card that was controversially shown to him in the Holland-Andorra World Cup 2006 qualifying game was one that can be characterized as a serious mistake made by the referee."It’s incredible. The referee really has made a wrong assessment.’ Incredible"I am not a player who is known for elbowing opponents, so I should never have been dismissed. We collided and I stopped him that way”, was the comment of the PSV captain on the key incident in the 38th minute. ”A yellow card would have been ample punishment. The referee saw the foul himself, but then he needed the fourth official to dismiss me. I think the fourth official must have very good eyes to see the incident from his position. Yet we have proved that we could restrain ourselves; we have put up with a lot tonight. I was punished by the referee. Things like that happen in a game, but believe me: this was never a red card”, felt Cocu.
