PSV youngster Ismail Aissati is one of the nominees for the ‘Sport talent of the year’ award of the town of Utrecht. The winners will be announced tonight during a gala night in a Utrecht theatre. Inhabitants of Utrecht were given an opportunity to vote their favourite athlete during the months of August up to and including November. An independent advisory committee, acting on these votes, has published a report on the proposals to Mayor and Aldermen of the town of Utrecht. The sports talent should not be older than 18 and he or she should have proved to be a very talented athlete. Ismail Aissati, who recently extended his contract with PSV until the summer of 2009, was born and bred in Utrecht. Since the summer of 2005, the midfielder has been included in the PSV first team squad and he was handed his debut in the first team by PSV head coach Guus Hiddink this season. He is also the youngest Dutch player ever to make an appearance during a Champions League game.
