PSV have reached an agreement with the Belgian defender Jelle de Bock. He joins PSV from Club Brugge and will put pen to paper on a long-term contract in Eindhoven. De Bock was at De Herdgang training base on Thursday. De Bock, who is nearly 18, makes appearances in the highest junior team and the reserves of Club Brugge. He is played in the heart of defence and has been regularly called up for the national teams. He had spells Hamme and Eendracht Aalst before he made a move to Club Brugge. He will join the first team squad for training on trial and make appearances for PSV, just like the talented players Juan Carlos Carrizo and Pepe Plá. PSV showed an interest in him last year. "I am delighted", said De Bock at De Herdgang training ground on Thursday afternoon. "It's great to make a move to PSV, just like former Club Brugge player Timmy Simons last summer. I am looking forward to seeing the club and the town of Eindhoven." De Bock, who was born in Dendermonde, is going to live in Eindhoven. He still studies Latin and Mathematics. De Bock is a centre back, who is hard to dispossess and "is always willing to give his all", as he puts it himself. He was cordially welcomed by PSV and scout Gerrit van Tilburg handed him a shirt with his name.
