PSV have not succeeded in winning the double for the second year in a row. Klaas Jan Huntelaar scored a second half double in the Rotterdam Kuip on Sunday night. He netted his second goal at the death and thus made sure of a 2-1 win for Ajax. Klaas Jan HuntelaarJust when it looked like extra time was needed to get a result, Klaas Jan Huntelaar proved once again that he is prolific finisher. He outwitted goalkeeper Gomes and cleverly moved in front of defender Ball, before he scored the winning goal from close range. Up till then it had been an evenly contested game and extra time looked most likely. Ajax ended a rather disappointing season in style: they qualified for the Champions League tournament preliminary rounds and won the Dutch Cup, while they also lifted the Johan Cruijff Shield at the start of the campaign, by seeing off PSV 2-1. The season is now over for PSV. Guus Hiddink, Fred Rutten and René Eijkelkamp leave PSV, following a defeat, but they can obviously look back with satisfaction at a great spell during which they lifted many trophies.Entertaining gameThe atmosphere in the Kuip was fantastic and both teams had their moments during the first half. Beasley and Farfán threatened at times, while at the other end Michael Ball twice thwarted dangerous Ajax efforts in the nick of time. The two sides did not earn great opportunities, but the game was entertaining all the same. Afellay could have scored from a perfect Ooijer pass, but he failed to do so. Both sets of supporters created a tremendous atmosphere and referee Vink was firmly in control. Lamey equalizerThe game sprang into life after the break. The pace of the game was high and the players put in a spirited and passionate performance. Ajax took the lead two minutes into the second period, when Klaas Jan Huntelaar headed home from a Wesley Sneijder at the near post. Michael Lamey, however, soon restored parity. The ball fell to the defender after a corner had been cleared and his volley from the edge of the area was superb and Ajax goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg did not stand a chance; 1-1.PSV wanted more and when Arouna Koné had been brought on for Ibrahim Afellay, they played an attacking formation, with four strikers. Galásek was shown a second yellow card in the 63rd minute and PSV were also reduced to ten men ten minutes later, when Lamey was sent off for a second bookable offence. Both sides threatened in the final stages, but with extra-time looming Huntelaar scored a late-gasp winner.
