The Olympic team have been beaten on penalties in the final of the prestigious tournament in Toulon. No goals were scored during official time (2x 40 minutes), so a penalty shoot out was needed to get a result. Tim Janssen failed to convert the fourth penalty.Tim JanssenThe Dutch team, coached by Wim van Zwam, and the French Olympic team were well-matched and the Dutch actually got the best opportunities. Otman Bakkal, in particular, delivered a great many fine crosses, but no forward was able to connect with them in front of the French goal. PSV player Roy Beerens was brought on in the 60th minute, but the Young PSV striker could not break the deadlock, either. When the French had converted all of their four penalty-kicks, Tim Janssen eventually did not find the net. In spite of the defeat, the Olympic team may look back with a sense of satisfaction at their performances during the 34 edition of Festival International Espoirs in Toulon.
