Eric Addo is the last PSV player to leave the World Cup in Germany with his head held high in the air. Ghana, the only African country that secured a place in the final sixteen, suffered a 3-0 defeat against defending champions Brazil in Dortmund.Ghana were the better side at times, but they were thwarted by goalkeeper Dida. Brazil proved to be prolific finishers: Ronaldo scored the opening goal on only five minutes. Brazil doubled their advantage on the verge of half-time. Adriano somehow netted Brazil’s second goal from close range, while he may very well have been in an off-side position. Minutes before Eric Addo picked up a nasty knock from Ronaldinho, but the PSV defender could fortunately carry on. Addo was taken off on the hour mark. Ze Roberto added a third goal on 84 minutes, when Ghana had already been reduced to ten men three minutes before, when Gyan was sent off for a second bookable offence.
