Salcido completes four-year deal with PSV (PSV.nl)

PSV have strengthened their defensive options by completing a four-year deal with the Mexican Carlos Arnoldo Salcido. The 26-year-old full left back impressed at the World Cup in Germany and makes a move from the Mexican club Chivas de Guadalajara. Salcido scored two goals in 36 appearances for his country. He scored his finest goal at the Confederations Cup tournament, when Mexico met Argentina in the semi finals. He played the full 90 minutes of each of the four Mexico World Cup 2006 games. Mexico were eliminated by Argentina during the knock out stages. Mexico finished second in their group, behind Portugal, but ahead of Angola and Iran.The Philips Stadium is no unknown territory for Carlos Salcido: he was included in the starting line-up of the Mexican team that played Holland in a friendly in Eindhoven on 1 June last.
