PSV met KVSK United for a pre-season friendly in Lommel on Saturday night. The Eindhoven outfit, who fielded a very young team, earned a 0-2 win, thanks to goals scored by Mika Väyrynen and Timmy Simons on either side of the break.Ronald Koeman fielded a very young team in the cosy stadium of the Belgian Second Division side KVSK United in Lommel. And when Gerald Sibon was taken off on some thirty minutes, after he had picked up a knock during an aerial challenge, there were as many as seven PSV players on the pitch that were twenty years of age or even younger: Afellay, Aissati, Plá, Da Costa, and the forward line with Nguyen, Beerens and substitute El Yaboubi. PSV had taken the lead on seven minutes, when Väyrynen headed home from a Nguyen cross. Plá and Afellay were shown yellow cards in the first half. Goalkeeper Oscar Moens took over from Gomes during half time. Some fierce fouls were committed in the initial stages of the second period, but things gradually calmed down. Beerens was fouled in the area ten minutes from final time and PSV captain Timmy Simons, a former Lommel player, coolly converted from the spot; 2-0. Koeman made four changes on the hour mark: De Bock replaced Alex; Fehér was brought on for Da Costa, who played right back; Smit took over from Afellay and Carrizo came on for Väyrynen. KVSK created one dangerous moment, twenty minutes from final time, but Moens denied them by pulling off a fine save. Lee Nguyen could have scored a third goal in the dying seconds, but the young American only hit the post.“I am glad the youngsters were given some playing time. They trained well last week. Beasley and Koné will return on Monday and we will continue the pre-season training sessions next week”, announced Ronald Koeman in the catacombs after the game. Jefferson Farfán will resume training on Wednesday. Koeman only briefly commented on the friendly. “We should not jump to conclusions. It was a pretty physical game and there were some bad fouls.” The players are off on Sunday and resume training on Monday. When asked whether André Ooijer, who is being linked with some foreign clubs, may leave Eindhoven, the PSV head coach replied that a move is out of the question.PSV line-up:Gomes (46.
