Ronald Koeman has dropped three players from the first team squad, one week ahead of the trip to England. During the weekly media briefing the PSV head coach announced that Lee Nguyen, Juan Carlos Carrizo and Pepe Plá have not been called up for the England trip. "They will report for duty with Young PSV tomorrow." “Gerald Sibon will not travel with the squad to England, either. He is recovering from a concussion.” Koeman has named eighteen players for the Light Town Derby against FC Eindhoven on Saturday night. He will have a 25-man squad at his disposal on Monday, when the internationals and latest signing Salcido return to De Herdgang training ground. The Australian goalkeeper Nathan Coe will travel to England as third choice. PSV will meet First Division side Stoke City on Tuesday and Newcastle United on Saturday. Koeman intends to give the internationals that return on Monday some playing time during the second game, in St. James' Park. Koeman is content with the way the players have been training so far. "They work hard and take things very seriously. This is a good squad with quality players and things will only go better when the internationals return on Monday. There is competition for each position and we will try to field a regular team shortly. It will not be a simple job, as the other players will not start training until Monday, when we have a complete squad." Koeman gave an answer right to the point, when he was asked whether there is still foreign interest (FC Porto) in Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink (FC Porto) and a possible replacement. “Nobody from Porto has been in touch with us and they have not come back with a higher bid. We assume he will stay here. That’s about all I am willing to reveal.”
