PSV MEDIA - 74-year-old Jan Timmer will stand down from his post as chairman of the board of supervisory directors on 1 July next, to be replaced by 62-year-old Frits Schuitema, who is currently a member of the board of supervisory directors and chairman of the club on an interim basis. Timmer has been President of the board of supervisory directors since 1999, when PSV became a public limited company. Jan Timmer informed all PSV officials and employees of the top management changes, at the Philips Stadium on Wednesday evening, in the presence of his successor Frits Schuitema. “It’s high time for me to step down. Overseeing Dutch championships wins was obviously the highlight of my career. This is what makes it all worth while. The players and coaching staff are most important at a professional football organisation, as sporting successes are of overriding importance. I am sure Frits Schuitema will make an excellent successor. He has gained valuable experience at managerial level at PSV and knows the club inside out”, told Timmer PSV TV straight after the meeting.
