Bertrand Layec has been named as referee for PSV’s Champions League quarter final first leg against Liverpool FC on Tuesday night. The 41-year-old referee from Saint Ave Morbihan in France has never taken charge of a PSV game before. The other officials are also from France. Bertrand Layec has been wearing a FIFA badge since 2002 and has been the man in the middle during two previous Champions League games this season. He will be flanked by French assistants Christian Thoison and Eric Dansault at the Philips Stadium on Tuesday night, while Stéphane Lannoy is fourth official in Eindhoven. PSV v Liverpool will be kicked off at 20:45.
