Romário will be given an opportunity to score his landmark 1000th career goal at the famous Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday after all. His club Vasco da Gama has decided to play tomorrow night’s cup tie against Gama at Maracanã, rather than at the São Januário Stadium, their home base.
Romário de Souza Faria, who was outstanding in his five seasons with PSV and has left an indelible impression, has taken his career tally to 999 goals. Romário came close to close to scoring his 1,000th goal in his career at the Maracanã last weekend, but did not find the net. He will be given another opportunity to make his dream come true on Wednesday night. Vasco da Gama v Gama kicks off at 21:45.
