Jefferson Farfán has been told to rest his ankle problem for two weeks. On Friday morning the PSV forward had his ankle immobilised in a walking plaster cast for two weeks. Farfán sustained the ankle injury during Peru's 2-2 draw with Bolivia at the Copa América in Venezuela on July 3.
Examination at hospital revealed that Farfán has sustained a tiny tear to the ligament in his left ankle. He has not sustained a fracture or damage, but the ankle needs to be rested. Farfán is expected to resume training in a bid to return to full fitness soon. The South American striker, who joined PSV in the summer of 2004, will not make the trip to Moscow. It is too bad Farfán will miss the game against AC Milan on 3 August, as the Peruvian scored the only goal in PSV's 1-0 home win over the Italians in December 2005 in the group stage phase of the Champions League.
