Several PSV officials watched Dinamo Moscow's game with FC Zenit St. Petersburg in Moscow on Saturday afternoon. Ronald Koeman, Jan Reker, Stan Valckx, Piet de Visser and Guus Hiddink saw Dick Advocaat's team drop precious points. The visitors saw their hopes of winning the Russian title hugely dented, after they slipped to a 4-2 defeat.

At half time Zenith, coached by former PSV coach Dick Advocaat, had taken a 2-1 lead, but the team from St. Petersburg were left empty-handed in the end. Shortly after the Saturday morning training session, a PSV delegation, including Ronald Koeman, Jan Reker, Stan Valckx, scout Piet de Visser and Commercial Manager Marcel van den Bunder, went to see the match. The players had the afternoon off, followed by an excursion to the Kremlin. Spartak Moscow top the Russian table, but Zenit are still second, one point clear of Dinamo Moscow and FC Moscow.
CSKA, who are also from the football stronghold of Moscow, are currently fifth in the table.
