The CSKA Moscow squad trained on the pitch of the Philips Stadium on Tuesday night to prepare for Wednesday night's match against PSV. The Russian team had trained behind closed doors the past few days, but tonight coach Valery Gazzaev allowed journalists and fans alike to see his players in action at training.

Just like PSV, CSKA Moscow have a strong Brazilian connection; six of their squad hail from Brazil. Vagner Love, whose full name is Vagner Silva de Sousa Nascimento, is the most prominent player. The small forward scored six goals in his last eight games and is generally regarded as the man-in-form. The club from Moscow takes part in the UEFA Champions League for the third time, but they have never reached the next round. CSKA Moscow currently lie fifth in the Russian league after 25 games, eight points behind leaders Spartak Moscow. Coach Valery Gazzaev said at the pre-match press conference that he rates the Dutch league just as highly as the Russian league. “There are some top clubs in Holland that dominate the domestic league and the same goes for Russia.” Below you will find some photos taken at Tuesday night's training session.
