The Netherlands hope to bounce back from their 1-0 defeat in Romania, when they play host to Slovenia in a crucial Euro 2008 qualifying game at the Philips Stadium in Eindhoven tonight.

If statistics are anything to go by, the home crowd will have reason to celebrate, as the Oranje have never dropped points at the Philips Stadium in Euro and World Cup qualifying games so far. They remained unbeaten, conceding only one goal in ten matches.
The Netherlands have played ten matches in Eindhoven since 1971 and they pulled off emphatic wins in all of their matches. The Oranje scored 44 goals and conceded only one goal in their 7-1 thrashing of Wales in a World Cup qualifier in 1998. It should be added, however, that the Netherlands did not meet the big countries in Eindhoven. They faced opposition from Luxemburg, Switzerland, Wales, Cyprus, Estonia, Belarus, Moldavia, Armenia, Andorra and, again, Belarus. If the home side earns a win tonight, they will take a major step towards qualification for the UEFA 2008 European Championship in Switzerland and Austria. Tonight's game is sold out.
