PSV and Fenerbahçe settled for a goalless draw, after playing a fierce, hard-fought and physical battle at the Philips Stadium on Tuesday night. They will meet again, in Istanbul in two weeks, and the winner of that crucial return leg will have a great chance of progressing to the knockout phase.
PSV worked hard to take all three points, but could not break the deadlock. Fenerbahçe were reduced to ten men 25 minutes from time, but PSV failed to make the numerical advantage count. Inter, who enjoyed a 2-1 victory away against CSKA Moscow, are on top in Group G with six points, a point ahead of Fenerbahçe and two clear of PSV.
