The Eredivisie tie Feyenoord v PSV, originally scheduled to take place on Sunday 13 January 2008, has been moved forward to Saturday 12 January 2008 by the KNVB, the Dutch Football Association. Feyenoord, who booked a place in the last sixteen of the KNVB Cup following a 3-1 victory against FC Groningen, will meet amateurs SV Deurne on Tuesday 15 January 2008.
It is remarkable that the KNVB should have made this fixture change, after first introducing the novelty of 'Super Sunday', the matchday on which quality sides the likes of PSV, Ajax, Feyenoord and AZ lock horns on one day.
Feyenoord will now play host to PSV at the Rotterdam Kuip on 12 Saturday 2008, with a 20:00 kick off. One week later PSV meet VVV-Venlo. The newly-promoted team may not take on PSV at their own stadium De Koel. They are considering entertaining PSV at a stadium in Germany, but have not found a suitable location yet. The stadium in Mönchengladbach, across the border with the Netherlands, is an option.
