PSV caretaker coach Jan Wouters said at the pre-match press conference that everyone realises that PSV need to take at least one point from their Champions League group stage game against CSKA Moscow on Tuesday night to claim a place in the UEFA Cup. If PSV succeed in taking all three points, they may even have a slender chance of advancing to the Champions League first knockout round.

Wouters, who obviously did not reveal his match plan, has some selection worries. Timmy Simons has sustained a back injury and the players, who might replace the PSV captain as holding midfielder, are also ruled out. Tommie van der Leegte suffers from intestinal complaints, while Eric Addo is suspended. 'It's hard to be without key players, so we'll have to see how to fill that gap, but I'm sure we will find a solution', said Wouters in the press room of the Lokomotiv Moscow Stadium. 'Everyone realises this is an important match. We need a point be sure of a UEFA Cup place. If we win, we'll see what happens next. CSKA are a great team with three very good strikers. They play good football off the wings and boast a solid and compact defence. We'll face a tall task.' Wouters will be forced to drop one player from the 19-man squad that made the trip to Moscow. Young Brazilian defender Fagner was added to the squad after Jan Kromkamp hobbled off the training pitch on Sunday morning.

Defender Mike Zonneveld also looked ahead at Tuesday's Champions League clash with CSKA Moscow. 'We hope to win to keep our chances of advancing to the knockout round alive, but we know that a draw will ensure a UEFA Cup place.' He realised that other players will have to make their mark in the absence of captain Simons. 'Timmy is obviously a very important player. He has gained a lot of experience, also on Champions League level.' Zonneveld scored a goal with a sweetly-taken free kick against Real Madrid in the same stadium in Moscow in August. Jan Wouters hopes PSV will be able to set up an exciting finale on Matchday 6. 'In this group anyone can take points off anyone else.'
