On Monday afternoon, the third Johan Cruyff Court was inaugurated in Eindhoven. The Cruyff Foundation intends to create 100 Johan Cruyff Courts in the Netherlands in the 34 Dutch cities with a professional football club and 60 have already been constructed. The official opening ceremony was conducted by former hockey international Carole Thate and PSV mascot Phoxy who kicked the first ball at the new Johan Cruyff Court.

The Johan Cruyff Foundation has developed the Cruyff Courts project to stimulate young people in The Netherlands and the rest of the world to participate in sports. Sports are the means and end to raise issues like social responsibility, integration, playing together and moral values.
Carole Thate, Director of the Cruyff Foundation and the Cruyff Courts Foundation, had come to Eindhoven to conduct the opening ceremony and Paul van Poppel represented the town of Eindhoven, while the PSV players Eric Addo, Dirk Marcellis, Slobodan Rajkovic and Otman Bakkal also showed their interest. Children of a primary school in Eindhoven then enjoyed themselves thoroughly, playing a game of football at the new Johan Cruyff Court with the PSV stars.
