PSV have two injury doubts ahead of Saturday's Eredivisie encounter with Excelsior. Sef Vergoossen will give late fitness tests on Saturday afternoon to Otman Bakkal who is trying to shake off a hamstring injury and Ismail Aissati who is troubled by an Achilles tendon problem. PSV will treat Excelsior with fairness and respect, but trust in their own strength.

Bakkal trained separately from the squad on Friday morning and will be in the treatment room this afternoon. 'We don't want to take any risks in view of the hectic fixture list, but if Bakkal is fit enough to play, he will start.' Vergoossen thought that Bakkal had definitely not sustained a serious injury, but may decide to rest the midfielder, following the last fitness test on Saturday afternoon. Ismail Aissati strained his Achilles tendon, after he had picked up a knock during Thursday's encounter for Young PSV with sc Heerenveen, so Sef Vergoossen has added Mika Väyrynen and Manuel da Costa to his provisional squad.

Vergoossen was brief in his comments about Saturday's opponents Excelsior, who are rooted to the bottom of the table. 'We will treat Excelsior with fairness and respect, but we trust in our own strength.' Vergoossen also told media representatives at the press briefing at De Herdgang training centre on Friday afternoon that he would like to pay more attention to particular details at training, but blamed a hectic fixture list for not being able to do so. 'We play a game every three days and have no time to focus on specific situations. We are unfortunately prevented from training more intensively, so we strike the golden mean.' PSV v Excelsior kicks off at 19: 30.
