PSV take on Ajax in a top-of-the-table clash at the Amsterdam ArenA on Wednesday night, kicking off at 20:45. PSV head coach Sef Vergoossen has made two changes from the team that earned a late-gasp win over bottom-placed Excelsior. The Ecuadorian midfielder Edison Mendez makes a return to the starting line up. He replaces Ibrahim Afellay who serves a one-match ban.
Otman Bakkal also makes a return to action at the expense of Jason Culina who drops to the bench. The box-to-box player missed last Saturday's defeat victory against Excelsior with a hamstring strain. Lazovic again partners Farfán up front.
There is no place in the starting line up for PSV's top scorer Danny Koevermans, who earned PSV a late win against Excelsior, taking his season's tally to twelve goals. He starts on the bench, along with Ismail Aissati who has returned to full fitness. Feyenoord play hosts to AZ at the Rotterdam Kuip tonight. PSV face a fixture list this week: they will make a trip to Alkmaar on Saturday to meet AZ.
PSV starting line up:
Gomes, Kromkamp, Marcellis, Salcido, Alcides, Simons, Bakkal, Méndez, Dzsudzsák, Lazovic and Farfán.
Substitutes: Roorda, Zonneveld, Väyrynen, Koevermans, Rajkovic, Culina and Aissati.
