Ibrahim Afellay has been forced to withdraw from the Holland squad for Wednesday's international friendly with Austria. The midfielder played 90 minutes in PSV's 3-0 win over FC Groningen on Saturday, but is still feeling the effects of the ankle injury that he sustained last week.
Ibrahim Afellay was ruled out of the top-of-the-table clash with Ajax, but made a return to the starting line-up to face FC Groningen on Saturday. He suffered a recurrent ankle problem during Saturday's game, so the PSV medical staff advised him not to travel with the Holland squad to Austria. Holland coach Marco van Basten has decided not to call up a replacement for Afellay. The Holland squad will report in Noordwijk on Monday.
