Rangers FC, who play Zenit St Petersburg in the UEFA Cup Final on May 14, will be one of 20 leading clubs on the grid when the Superleague Formula championship kicks off in the UK at Donington Park on August 30/31. Yesterday saw the official unveiling of Rangers' SF car, at Ibrox Stadium.
PSV was one of the first clubs to have pledged their commitment to participate in the brand new global car Superleague Formula racing competition. The Superleague Formula organisation has announced that negotiations are currently being finalised to complete the grid that will also include an English Premier League team.

Alongside PSV, AC Milan, FC Porto, Olympiakos, Borussia Dortmund, FC Basel, Anderlecht, Sevilla, Galatasaray and the Brazilian clubs Flamengo and Corinthians AC Milan, Olympiakos have all signed contracts to take part in the competition. The first race will take place at Donington Park, while Race 3 will be at Zolder in Belgium, at only an hour's drive from Eindhoven, on October 4/5, 2008. Glasgow Rangers striker Nacho Novo, who kept his cool to convert the decisive spot-kick against Fiorentina and put his side into the Uefa Cup final, was the first one to sit behind the steering wheel and experience the sensation of driving a racing car.
