The Dutch Under-17 team made amends for the 3-0 opening defeat by Turkey, as they claimed a 1-0 win over Serbia in their second UEFA European Under-17 Championship group stage game. Coach Albert Stuivenberg's team staged a brave fight back in Antalya in Turkey last night and were rewarded for their resilience when Geoffrey Castillion scored the winning goal after 33 minutes.

Two PSV players made an appearance for the Dutch team. Youness Mokthar came on as a substitute after 51 minutes, while Jeroen Zoet, who captains the Dutch Under-17 team, played the full 90 minutes. The PSV keeper conceded three goals in the opening game, but kept a clean sheet against Serbia. Coach Stuivenberg hailed the performance of the keeper who kept his side in the game, pulling off a number of excellent saves. PSV defender Imad Najah also put in a convincing display. As Turkey also enjoyed victory in their second group stage game, Holland Under-17 may book a place in the semi-finals, if they record a win over pointless Scotland on Saturday. Serbia, who have collected three points from two matches, just like Holland, face leaders Turkey on Saturday.
