22-year old PSV midfielder Ibrahim Afellay sat out the training of the Dutch team in Katwijk on Wednesday morning because of a slight injury. Arsenal striker Robin van Persie and VfB Stuttgart defender Khalid Boulahrouz did not join their team mates for training either, as Holland prepare for Saturday's international friendly with Australia and a World Cup qualifying game against Macedonia next Wednesday.
Afellay and Culina
Nine-capped Afellay, who trained separately from the group yesterday, sustained a slight ankle injury on Saturday, when he scored a double for PSV to ensure of a 5-1 win over FC Utrecht. Robin van Persie and Khalid Boulahrouz did not train on Wednesday morning either, as they have picked up minor injuries. The three of them are expected to join their team mates for full training again tonight. Holland face Australia in a friendly in Eindhoven on Saturday. Ibrahim Afellay and his 'opponent' Jason Culina will play Saturday's match in familiar surroundings, as the friendly takes place at the Philips Stadium. The Oranje will travel to Skopje next Wednesday to meet Macedonia in their first World Cup 2010 qualifying game.
