Van Eijden, who was born in Oss on 30 March 1988, joined PSV as a youth player in 1999 and came through all the ranks before he was called up to the first-team squad for the first time in the 2006/07 season. He came on as a substitute in the Champions League game against Liverpool at Anfield in April 2007. He was added to the first team squad in January 2008, but continued to play games for the PSV reserves. He made 23 league appearances for Willem II this season.
