PSV head coach Guus Hiddink emphasized at the press conference organized after the Cup Final that he was extremely proud of his winning team and the great results achieved this season."This squad has been very ambitious all season."A great season"I am so proud. I don’t want to boast, but this is the fourth time in my career that I win the Cup and the fifth time I clinch the Dutch title. And I feel proud. The players of the squad have been demanding to each other and they are rewarded for all their efforts by winning the double. This is a great achievement, the more so when you recall how uncertain the future looked like when we started the campaign", announced Hiddink in the Rotterdams press hall. Sloppy startHe was brief in his match analysis. "I think we had a sloppy start and conceded a corner in the very first minute, but we did not concede anything else. It was a regular game and we have played so many of them this season. We are delighted and we now go home. Some of the lads will go on holiday and some will be on international duty."VäyrynenHiddink made an exception to his customary policy of not going into names of players that are being linked with PSV. Ï don’t think it will be easy to find two new midfield players to replace our departing players. It will be extremely hard to copy this year’s achievements. Our main challenge will be to field a team that will appeal to the crowd. Hiddink gave an affirmative answer to the question whether PSV will close a deal with Mika Väyrynen. The PSV head coach announced: "We have reached an agreement with the player himself."
